From September 14th to September 18th, Soepermarkt Music Publishing & Dutch Music Export embarked on a creative mission to Tokyo, Japan 🇯🇵 with six Dutch writers and producers to collaborate with top artists, music labels, and publishers in Japan.
The entire week was dedicated to writing new songs. In addition to studio sessions with Japanese artists, producers, and songwriters, the program included an opening event featuring presentations from Japanese music companies, a listening event at the Dutch embassy, and various networking moments.
It was an amazing and successful week of building a co-writing culture and new opportunities for the creative music community and business in both Japan and the Netherlands.

This initiative was created to foster the future of building a co-writing culture within the Dutch & Japanese creative industries by connecting brilliant minds – artists, songwriters and producers – across borders. Our mission? To craft music that resonates worldwide and to spotlight the talent shaping the future of music creation. The results of the writing camp are truly astonishing.
17 songs were created in 4 days, including 4 bespoke tracks created for a Japanese Tiger (beer) commercial pitch. A total of 22 different Japanese creators participated in the sessions, and there were cross-collaborations with 15 different Japanese music companies and a successful listening / B2B event at & in collaboration with the Dutch Embassy in Tokyo.
