A new song from Benny Sings for the dog days of summertime, “Wait for the Summer” was recorded in the same sessions as his recent album Young Hearts, released earlier this year.
Benny says: “I think the quest for safety is one of humanity’s largest quests. I think one of the answers to ‘what’s the meaning of life’ could be ‘the quest for safety’. It’s what makes you get food and it’s why you listen to music. It makes you feel a little more safe. So, I wanted to make a song that leans into that idea: come here, sit down, you’re safe.”
Young Hearts was released earlier in 2023. It is Benny Sings’ first record made with a single producer — beatmaker-to-the-stars Kenny Beats. “Wait for the Summer” was started in Los Angeles and Remi Wolf – who features on Young Hearts highlight “Pyjamas” – added the hook.
