More than thrilled to announce our next new signing Pomrad on SYRUP Music. Pomrad is the alter ego of Adriaan Van De Velde, already a member of the syrup music family being half of the amazing Lander & Adriaan.
Lander & Adriaan recently played a smashing show on Lowlands festival which resulted in a #9 spot in the 3voor12 list of best acts on the festival.
Pomrad combines 80s fusion funk, raw electro-dance, and 90s rave grooves with catchy melodies and dreamy yet gritty bass-driven pop music. In the electro-funk scene he is best known for his typical drippy sweaty funk and scorching hot ballads.
Working on new music, he spices up this electro-funk game with some uptempo 90s rave genres like UK funk, garage and jungle.
Pomrad is known for his exciting energetic performances, both musically impressive and entertaining. He uses his craftmanship as a trained jazz musician to play a laboratory of synths and samplers, combines it with weird dance moves, a sweet tenor voice, and a good dose of irony & humor.
Steamy Plants will be the first single in 7 years and tells the story of a dream in wich window plants eagerly try to warn him for the foolish attempt to write a great piece of music. The last way for the plants to communicate is to evaporate their liquids through their leaves and try to ‘steam’ the urgent message, and then die. The image of the steaming plants in the pale sunlight is both magnificent and sad. The singer doesn’t understand the weird dream and nervously goes on with his endeavour, resulting in this song called ‘Steamy Plants’.
Steamy Plants drops September 18 on Syrup music! Welcome Pomrad!
