Luka

Born in Cape Town, raised and based in the Netherlands; singer-songwriter Lisa Lukaszczyk forms the creative foundation for her band Luka. Inspired by artists such as Feist, Sylvan Esso, and Bon Iver, Luka exhibits a sound with touches of dreamy electro-pop, folk, and soul.

After having released ‘Welcome, Generation Everything‘ in 2018, her successful debut album ‘First Steps of Letting Go‘ came out in 2020. Produced by Wannes Salomé (Klangstof, Nana Adjoa), this album navigates from hushed electronics to catchy indie pop. The album was followed by the release of remix EP ‘Reworks [FSOLG]’ which features three reworks made by three different musicians: Barbagallo (Tame Impala), Wannes Salomé (Klangstof), and Willem Ardui (Blackwave).

Luka’s new single ‘Something Somewhere‘ is out now. Luka explains the song: It paints a feeling of the mystical glare that drives another. Its the glow of inspiration that keeps us moving. The song started on a writing trip with some friends, among musicians Joep Le Blanc (ZES) and Guido Nederstigt (Darlyn). After that, she collaborated on the song with her team members Joost Wesseling (Luka, Luwten) and Wannnes Salomé, after which Joep Le Blanc did the end-production and mix for the song. Luka previously worked together with Joep on two tracks of her debut album (Lost Today/Found Tomorrow& Numbers). In 2023 we can expect more new music.
